A Job Coaching Success Story
DESCRIPTION:
Frank and Mick are a true example of a successful job-coaching match that has extended well beyond the usual 6 month time period .When Mick completed his 2 week Ready for Work placement with Cadbury Trebor Basset he was successful at gaining a 6 month contract and was overjoyed at this new prospect of working in a busy factory environment . Micks appointed Job Coach was Frank from Cadbury and they soon agreed on a plan of action to meet regularly to support Mick and assist in breaking down any barriers that may arise . During the 6 month contract, Mick secured a second job as a Chef in the city centre .This left him with a dilemma and he went straight to his job coach for help and advise .As the Cadbury contract was for a period of 6 months, they both decided that their long term objective was for Mick to find full-time employment.Mick decided to take up the offer of the Chefs position in the city centre and is now very happy in his new role. Frank and Mick still meet up to provide a forum for motivational discussions and both parties agree that job coaching really does work!
